“A story of the hand” presents by SOIE
salon des vioterrasse(サロン デ ヴィオテラス)代表の山﨑由貴さんです。

“A story of the hand” presented by SOIE
In this series, we talk with people from a wide range of professions that SOIE finds intriguing,
and ask them about their “hands.”
Our first guest is Yuki Yamazaki, owner of salon des vioterrasse,
who has openly declared herself a fan of SOIE.
“Hands that make women beautiful: Yuki Yamazaki”
SOIE (S): Ms. Yamazaki, you have an unusual background for the beauty industry. We heard you originally came from the apparel world, where you worked in a wide range of roles, from sales to PR. What made you change careers and move into beauty?
Yamazaki (Y): In apparel, your taste can change with age and so on. But as I got older myself, I felt that, having been born a woman, beauty was something I could stay involved with for the rest of my life.
Rather than focusing on my own techniques, I put real weight on proposals that let clients keep up their own self-maintenance. I’d say I provide an environment where we can create “natural beauty” together, helping each person build who they are.
Ms. Yamazaki, looking lovely in her outfit that day too ♡
S: That’s wonderful… Natural beauty, what a nice idea!
Y: I’ve always been the natural type. For example, I’m sensitive to the frequencies from things like induction cooktops and microwave ovens. I bring that perspective to what I introduce at the salon and to what I use myself. SOIE is made with over 95% naturally derived ingredients too, isn’t it?
S: We’re so happy you know that! Yes, it is. We developed it wanting to make a product that everyone from adults to children can use, so the formula is one that everyone can use with peace of mind.
Y: As I mentioned, my salon’s policy is self-maintenance, so I value home care that clients can adopt without it feeling like a burden. Items that are natural yet also work quickly are appealing. SOIE really isn’t sticky at all, and it’s easy to use.
S: We developed SOIE wanting it to be an item that fits naturally into everyday life. Care is better when it’s simple, isn’t it?
How do you usually care for your hands?
Y: Actually, back in my apparel days I kept my nails long.
I love nails so much that I’ve been doing them since my third year of junior high, inspired by a certain person. I was thorough about care too, and I never even used nail clippers.
Then when I opened the salon, I had to cut my nails short. That was the first time I ever used clippers. At first my nails became so damaged that it was a shock.
S: Third year of junior high?! (surprised) That is an incredibly high level of awareness! Amazing.
Y: When it comes to care, the stickiness of hand creams is always a concern, isn’t it?
Honestly, some of them feel unpleasant to use… Working on a computer after applying them is really awful.
In that respect, I love that SOIE comes as a serum. It’s so easy to use.
It covers the gap between wanting to care for my hands and not being able to because of work.
Simple, easy to practice on your own, and fast-acting.
I think that applies both to my salon and to what I recommend to my clients.
S: It’s true that when a product doesn’t feel good to use or doesn’t seem to work, your motivation drops. Making care a close part of your routine without strain is also a shortcut to natural beauty. SOIE is particular about fragrance as well. Which scent is your favorite?
Y: The original LUXURY FLORAL had a lovely clean feel, but I like the scent of the new ELEGANT TIME. It’s refined, and the femininity of the lily note is lovely. I think a rich floral scent lifts a woman’s spirits. For anyone who finds the fragrance strong, mixing it with the unscented version (CLEAR FREE) might be a good idea too.
S: Even a tip like that! Thank you.
(The scent was created to express a refined woman with a strong core, so it suits Ms. Yamazaki perfectly…)
Lastly, what do your “hands” mean to you?
Y: Expression. (instant answer)
Not as much as facial expressions, but you can express your feelings with your hands.
In fashion too, I think hands express a great deal. The same goes for nails and accessories. They are a place where a person’s character and individuality show strongly.
S: Thank you so much for sharing so many valuable thoughts with us today.
On this day too, diamond jewelry sparkled subtly on Ms. Yamazaki’s hands. When we asked, she told us she prefers simple designs that stay close to you like lingerie.
The glowing skin that makes such simple designs shine is “natural beauty” itself.
The salon of Ms. Yamazaki, whose “hands make women beautiful,” is private, but she shares updates on Instagram
( @salon_des_vioterrasse ), so if you’re interested, please follow her.
This series will continue at irregular intervals with a second and third installment.
Founder Saori ( @saori_miyoshi ) and
Sales Director Yosako ( @yosako.y_y )
will keep visiting people whose “stories of the hand” we would like to hear (・ω・)/
